In quantify of war tiddlerren are ancient and fragile to anything that surrounds them do going down the wrong path. In this book A Long Way Gone castaway and his peers have go through countless encounters of unforgiving slaughtering, hunger and a exit to simply survive. In this essay I will dissect the loss of childhood innocence the children have experienced and the impact their growth process emotionally by times of war.
A Long Way Gone is a reliable story, which sets in Sierra Leone where Ishmael who loves rap music, lives a gentle happy life with his family and friends gets turned upside down when a civil war breaks out. That forces Ishmael to run for his life and alas gets separated from his family, he has no choice but to interlocking for his survival by running from village to village helplessly. Losing his family to the RUF which he dears the most Ishmael finds it tough to survive. The RUF finally catches him with other children who run low child soldier eliminateers. His luck changes dramatically when he is chosen by the lieutenant to go to rehab camp and hopeful of acquire back of track. Trying to settle with his new family for sometime he finally gets chosen to go to New York become a spokesman for the United Nations.
Concluding he goes back to Sierra Leone and is befuddle in the madness of killing and rebels, so he decides to turn tail to live a better life.
Being a child solider has many negative impacts to emotional growth that is what Ishmael endured during his time. On big impact is the brainwashing these children have faced during on that point time with the RUF. Ishmael and his fellow soldiers are upset and fragile, causing them to unable to differentiate between whats right and wrong.
