Humans Are Not Always Selfish

Rachels then goes on to explain the diversion between selfishness and self-centeredness. Selfish behavior is one that ignores the interests of others, while self-interest is when you do things for yourself such as going to the doctors when you are not feeling well. However, to determine if an action is right depends on the circumstance for each person. Next, Rachels shows the counterarguments against ethical egoism and its inability to be generalized. The argument against begins by saying that it is not in ones own interest to tell others that they are acting from self-interest.
