It seems that in nearly any culture, the value of the traditions and beliefs can be greatly weakened when introduced to a unfermented, overpowering culture. This happens to families that move to a new city or country with greatly differing lifestyles quite frequently. The children of these families rebel up in a society where the cultural beliefs of their family be non common, and as a result these children usually scram up to not care as much some their old cultures traditions as the older generations of their family do. Louise Erdrichs poem, Dear John Wayne, and Sherman Alexies curtly story, War Dances, give great examples of this from the new generation of native Americans point of view, both giving situations that illustrate just how low the newer generations seem to care about the old traditions and history of their people. Erdrich and Alexie aim different styles, with Erdrich apply more metaphorical approach and Alexie using a very blunt, straight forward one, to come to the alike(p) theme of a disintegrating culture. Although, they differ in opinions for the cause of the disintegration.
Erdrich believes that the dying(p) culture of the Native Americans is due to the white mans intervention and twinge and reflects this with metaphoric allusions.
